Where can sign-up instructions for the Networking Academy Maintenance Service be found?
Sign-up instructions can be found in the ‘Networking Academy Maintenance Service Datasheet’. This document and other information are located in the ‘Equipment Information’ section of Cisco Networking Academy. Here is how to locate this section:
1. Log in to www.netacad.com
2. Hover over the ‘Resources’ section and select ‘Marketing and Program Resources’
3. Click ‘Equipment Information’ and scroll down and click ‘NetAcad Maintenance’
4. Click ‘NetAcad Maintenance FAQ’
5. Scroll down and click the ‘NetAcad Maintenance Service Datasheet’ document

Please Note: It will take a few weeks to enable this service for an Instructor and/or Academy.

Security Technology Package Activation Procedure on ISR-G2 Devices

This document describes the procedure for activating the Security Technology Package. Activation of the Security Technology Package Right-to-Use license does not require a new license key. NetAcad Maintenance is not providing a Permanent License where a new license key would be needed. It is granting legal access for continued use of the Right-to-use license beyond the 60 day evaluation period. You will need to agree to the End-User License agreement (EULA).

The Security Technology Package Evaluation Right to Use License

The Security Technology License needs to be activated on the ISR-G2 devices to perform the labs in the CCNA Security and CCNP curricula. Academies with a valid NetAcad Maintenance Contract are authorized to use the Security Technology Package Right to Use (RTU) license.

How to Sign Up for Networking Academy Maintenance

To participate in the Networking Academy Maintenance service, each representative must have a Cisco.com account. If they don’t have an account, they can sign up for a guest account. To do this, visit Cisco.com and select Register in the top right corner to register as a new user. 

If a Cisco Academy wishes to participate in the Networking Academy Maintenance service, the sign-up procedure is as follows:

-1- An instructor or someone with another Networking Academy role at the academy gathers the following information and opens a ticket with the Support Desk:

• Academy name, ID number, address, and primary phone number 
• List of all instructors and administrators at the academy who will be representatives for the  service.
• The list should include each representative’s name, academy ID, email address, and Cisco.com ID

Downloading IOS Images (Netacad Maintenance Program)

This message explains how to download IOS images if your Cisco Academy  is participating in the NetAcad Maintenance program and your username is in the list of the participants.

A quick and easy way to download the correct IOS image from cisco.com is to use the hyper-links provided in the ‘Networking Academy Maintenance Image & Hardware Support’ document. After selecting the appropriate curriculum from the opening menu, you will be taken to the list of approved hardware to use for the curriculum labs. You will also find this and additional information in the ‘Networking Academy Maintenance IOS Download Guide’ document.
