BiASC connects IT Academies from higher and secondary education and from non-commercial professional and social training institutions. It acts as a go-between for the professional IT world and the world of education, building bridges and making it easier to follow trends and evolutions.

Internet & cloud technology with open standards, and mobility with smart devices form the foundation of the digitized world. The current focus areas of BiASC are Innovation Competences, Digital Business, Skills for Industry and Country Digitization.

BiASC was established in 2013 as an official Cisco CSR Partner to enable communication and co-operation within the Belgian ICT education sector.  BiASC is an independent and non-commercial organization serving as a network for ICT education in Belgium. BiASC also promotes international co-operation and works with sister organizations in the Netherlands, Luxemburg, Germany, Italy, Spain, Scandinavia, Baltic States and others. BiASC has been expanding and started co-operation with global IT vendors who have a relevant offering for IT education. In that sense BiASC has the ambition to be a trusted advisor.

BiASC has three main functions:

• giving curriculum advice as an Academy Support Center (ASC)
• providing in-service teacher training as an Instructor Training Center (ITC) 
• improving the way people learn as an Academy Resource Center

Organizations like BiASC exist in nearly every country.

Benefits of Networking Academy Membership

This information is taken from the New Networking Academy Membership Guide

All academies are required to align with an Academy Support Center as part of their onboarding process.  Academies are free to change their Academy Support Center alignment in Cisco NetSpace if they choose.  Academies also select Instructor Training Centers as needed to provide training to their instructors.
