The Cisco Certified Technician (CCT) certifications are non-progressive and are not steppingstones to Cisco associate-level career paths. The new Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) certifications provide the basic knowledge and training required for candidates to progress to CCNA and CyberOps associate-level certifications.
CCT
- Cisco Certified Technician Routing and Switching (CCT Routing and Switching) certification focuses on the skills required for onsite support and maintenance of Cisco routers, switches, and operating environments.
- Technicians in this area must be able to identify Cisco router and switch models, accessories, cabling, and interfaces; understand the Cisco IOS Software operating modes and identify commonly found software; and be able to use the Cisco Command Line Interface (CLI) to connect and service products.
- Certification will help Field Engineers identify Cisco router and switch models, accessories, cabling, and interfaces
- Achieving CCT Routing and Switching certification is considered the best foundation for supporting Cisco devices and systems.
CCST
- The Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) Networking certification validates an individual’s skills and knowledge of entry-level networking concepts and topics.
- The certification demonstrates foundational knowledge and skills needed to show how networks operate, including the devices, media, and protocols that enable network communications.
- Achieving CCST Networking certification will help support and network technicians understand networking concepts to support in a variety of scenarios like helpdesk or basic IT support.
