NetAcad Midsummer Instructor Event | EN 2022 | Presentation List

From 24 until 27 August as many as sixteen Belgian Networking Academy instructors took part in the Europe North Networking Academy Conference organized by Cisco NetAcad and the main ASC/ITC partners like BiASC. Teachers from Belgium, the Netherlands, Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania were among the 80 registered participants.

The aim of this conference is to inspire everyone at the start of the academic year with new course materials, best practices and practical workshops. The bulk of the presentations and breakouts were about new course offerings, software, simulation tools and hardware. Also, there were multiple breakouts about Network Programmability and Cyber Security.

Preparing for IT Essentials v8

Cisco NetAcad have announced the release of their updated IT Essentials 8.0 content. IT Essentials v8 is directly linked to the updated CompTIA A+ certifications.

Any Cisco Instructor in any Cisco Academy supported by an ASC can access the content:

• The bridging content, covering the differences between v7.x and 8.0 is available for students.
• The full version of the content, is scheduled for December 2022.

Anyone in a Cisco Academy connected to an ASC can teach this course, as long as they have instructor status. Prior accreditation and training is no longer required. Any teaching colleague can be added to an academy and offered access to this resource. 

Relevancy of IT Essentials
The IT Essentials course teaches competences and skills about computer hardware, operating systems, software and security. It is an important preparation for courses like CyberSecurity Operations, DevNet Associate and also Routing and Switching.

Registration is reserved for IT students in their final study phase who wish to meet a Cisco partner for an internship, thesis, student project or job. CSPM is a market segment for IT security tools that are designed to identify misconfiguration issues and compliance risks in the cloud. An important purpose of CSPM programming is to continuously monitor cloud infrastructure for gaps in security policy enforcement.

Cloud computing and cloud storage are the new core elements of a company. They are utilized and optimized to keep their data secure and protected. This not only devoids the need for the company's urgency to have data backed up in hard drives but also caters to prolonging the data life by restricting the loss of data. Hence, Cloud Security Posture Management tools have an important role to play.
