As businesses across sectors adopt the cloud, cloud computing is the number one hard skill needed by companies as substantiated by a LinkedIn research paper. Furthermore, in a recent Global Knowledge report , AWS Certifications held two of the top 10 positions of top paying certifications globally for 2020. To meet these market needs that continue to outgrow supply, and ensure an ongoing talent pool of certified cloud professionals graduating from higher educational institutes and Universities, we have a global curriculum-based program for academic institutions called AWS Academy.
AWS Academy
AWS Academy provides higher education institutions with a free, ready-to-teach cloud computing curriculum and labs that prepare students to pursue industry-recognized certifications, practice on the cloud environment, and get ready for in-demand cloud jobs. Our curriculum (which is in English) helps educators stay at the forefront of AWS Cloud innovation so that they can equip students with the skills they need to get hired in one of the fastest-growing industries. Our credit-based lab environments offer a range of AWS Services for educators and students to practice. AWS Academy courses are designed to be delivered to students aged 16 and above at Universities that offer accredited degree, diploma, certificate, or continuing education programs. Educator candidates and students get access to free practice exams, and a 50% discount on certification fees.
Membership
Typical steps for a University to become a program member: Eligible Institution completes the membership application online --> Upon accepting the terms and conditions, the institution is approved as a member, and nominates educator(s) for accreditation (online) --> Educators begin complimentary educator accreditation training --> Educators may pass an AWS Certification exam, and are accredited to teach courses to students.
