The traditional NetAcad roles of Instructor and Student have been expanded. Below you can see the current overview of all NetAcad Roles together with their permissions.
The Course Facilitator role was designed to provide another individual with access to a course if the instructor is unavailable (e.g. extended sickness, vacation). Course Facilitators have the same access to the course and most of the capabilities as an instructor. Only individuals with the Facilitator, Contact, Staff or Advisor role can be added to a course as a Course Facilitator.
The ASC Academy Specialist role has been created to improve the quality of support delivered to academies. The ASC Academy Specialist can troubleshoot support issues in a timely manner and help to improve the performance of supported academies.
Advisor and Staff roles have many of the same capabilities. An exception to this is the Advisor role has access to academy reports and managing their academy’s relationship(s), the Staff role does not. Also, Staff can only add or remove Instructor, Staff or Student roles for an account at their academy.
Only NetAcad Contact can change the role of Contact and ASC Academy specialist. Only Advisors and Staff can be elected as Contact.
