New CCNP PILOT for career-ready training

A new CCNP PILOT course is being tested by a group of experienced NetAcad instructors. On 7 March we will inform all interested community members and demonstrate the virtual labs and the learning environment.

A lot of demand has been received for an improved CCNP career-oriented training in Cisco Networking Academy. Recently a pilot project has started within BiASC in which twelve experienced Cisco NetAcad instructors will give feedback on the learning management system and the virtual labs.

On 7 March we intend to have an open meeting with the CCNP pilot instructors and other interested BiASC members. At the end of the session you will have a clear opinion about the new CCNP training materials and the virtual labs.

FOSDEM Open Source - Brussels - 2 & 3 February 2019

FOSDEM is a two-day event organised by volunteers to promote the widespread use of free and open source software. Taking place in the beautiful city of Brussels (Belgium), FOSDEM is widely recognised as the best open source conference in Europe.

Every year, FOSDEM hosts a wide variety of activities about open source. The 2019 edition features 452 speakers, 470 events, and 54 tracks. There are essentially six different categories of sessions and activities: keynotes, main tracks, developer rooms, lightning talks, stands and certification exams.

CiscoLive 2019 Registration for NetAcad Instructors

Cisco NetAcad instuctors are invited to take part in the annual CiscoLive conference in Barcelona in the last week of January. Access is free on Thursday 31 January  and Friday 1 February. On Wednesday 30 January the access ticket to explore the conference and be active in the learning labs will be 100 euro. For the full conference starting on Monday 28 January the Explorer Pass will cost 500 (early birds) or 700 euro.

You will be able to talk to experts and perform hands-on labs on all the relevant technologies for Networking Academies, including Software Defined Networking and Blockchain technology.

Cisco Collaboration for Education - Classroom of the Future - 19 Dec 2018

On 19  December 2018 a group of members from BiASC were invited at the Cisco BeLux office in Diegem to learn the ins and outs of online collaboration. Frank, Maarten and Rudy of Cisco BeLux thoroughly demonstrated the use of online collaboration tools to a group of about 15 academy trainers, allowing participants to ask all the questions about new communication tools and methods. Demonstrations of Collaboration Systems need restricted groups of about 15 participants. 

Webex Teams and Webex Meet are very well designed with open standards and are quite user friendly. If you like to experiment with Webex just send a message to <[email protected]>. Education prices are free for students and one euro per academy user (teachers, manangement, admin staff).

To start using all the possibilities a "presenter" needs a decent introduction. "Participating" in online collaboration is easy, just press "Join".

NetAcad Days 24 & 25 januari 2019

Alle BiASC-leden worden uitgenodigd op de komende studiedagen op 24 en/of 25 januari bij Cisco in Amsterdam. Networking Academy helpt studenten om zich klaar te stomen voor de arbeidsmarkt van de toekomst. De sessies gaan door in het Nederlands.

Issue in the scoring of the Packet Tracer Practice exams

Currently, when using Packet Tracer version 7.2, some of the Skills Exams are scored incorrectly.  

The work around is to use the previous version 7.1, and the exams will score correctly.   

 

=> The new version of Packet Tracer 7.2.1 has solved the issue
