FOSDEM is a two-day event organised by volunteers to promote the widespread use of free and open source software. Taking place in the beautiful city of Brussels (Belgium), FOSDEM is widely recognised as the best open source conference in Europe.
Every year, FOSDEM hosts a wide variety of activities about open source. The 2019 edition features 452 speakers, 470 events, and 54 tracks. There are essentially six different categories of sessions and activities: keynotes, main tracks, developer rooms, lightning talks, stands and certification exams.

- Cisco provides all of the WLAN hardware and manages the wireless network at FOSDEM.
- Linux Professional Institute (LPI) has a stand at FOSDEM.
- LPI Linux Certification exams have been scheduled on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.
