Everywhere in the world Cisco Systems has started projects in the domain of country digitization. For the domain of education this means preparing the future workforce with new competences and skills. In 2017 Cisco has added course materials that are targeted at secondary education. More and more secondary schools are coming into to the programme. Especially the success of the Cisco Packet Tracer simulation software as well as the educational school books by Brinkman have moved secondary education towards the Cisco Networking Academy programme. It is important to understand that the course materials from Cisco Networking Academy have been created in the context of Cisco Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The courses are educational, and not targeted to commercial training centers. Follow News from BiASC and Join the BiASC Facebook Group
On 23 November BiASC organized a get-together for newcomers in the Networking Academy programme at the Cisco Diegem offices. The main purpose of EDU Day for Cisco Academies was to give representatives of secondary education and adult training centers an overview of the different possibilities and a brief introduction into important new trends. Specific meetings are being planned for other types of Cisco Academies.
BiASC will be offering free instructor onboarding training to secondary schools, who are member of Cisco Networking Academy. The BiASC community of university colleges is willing to invite secondary schools and institutions of adult education in their respective regions, with the support of the Belgian IT Academy Support Center.
