Cisco Networking Academy is offering  the CCNA R&S 6.0 Bridging Course, which together with the CCNA R&S 5.X curriculum, is in full alignment with the CCNA R&S Certification. Networking Academy students now have access to the English self-paced CCNA R&S 6.0 Bridging Course to supplement their CCNA R&S 5.x knowledge and can enroll here

New CCNA R&S Bridging Course Available

Technology is constantly evolving and CCNA certifications have been updated keeping up with the demands of today’s networking careers. 

Cisco Networking Academy is now offering  the CCNA R&S 6.0 Bridging Course, which together with the CCNA R&S 5.X curriculum, is in full alignment with the CCNA R&S Certification.

All instructors have access to the English version of the CCNA R&S 6.0 Bridging Course. Additional languages of French, Arabic, Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish will release in July and August. You have access to a free self-paced CCNA R&S 6.0 Bridging Course that covers the new supplemental topics that are included in the new Certification Exams.

New Topics Aligning to Certification

BiASC LAB DAY - 4 NOVEMBER 2016

Quite a few new concepts have been added to the Cisco Networking Academy Programme: HSRP, NTP, HSRP, Multi Area OSPF, DMVPN, eBGP, QoS, SPAN, ....

BiASC is organizing a day in the Cisco lab on Friday 4 November 2016 for BiASC members. The aim is to get a good understanding of the new concepts in a practical way.

Emerging Security Threats 2016

Presentation by: Jaeson Schultz - Technical Leader, Cisco TALOS

Cisco's Threat Research Analysis and Communications (TRAC) team specialises in early-warning intelligence and threat analysis necessary for maintaining a secure network. People responsible for defending networks realise that the security threat landscape is constantly in flux as attackers evolve their skills. TRAC advances the overall efficacy of all Cisco security platforms by aggregating data, cooperating with teams of security experts, and applying the cutting-edge big data technology to security. In this talk we will perform deep analysis of recent threats and see how TRAC leverages indicators of compromise (IOC) against large datasets to deliver product improvements and mitigation strategies.

Cisco Global Cybersecurity Scholarship for Netacad Students

A new CCNA Cyber Ops Certification has been designed which will be availbale to ICND1-level Networking Academy students. Cisco Scholarships are available from August 1, 2016, until the end of July 2017: training, mentoring, and certification for the skills needed in the security operations center (SOC) analyst job role.

Cisco Global Cybersecurity Scholarship for Netacad Students

In the new digital era, organizations rely on cybersecurity to protect themselves, enable trust, move faster, add value, and grow. As the volume and sophistication of cyberattacks rises, organizations are experiencing a significant shortage of IT professionals with cybersecurity skills. To help close this security skills gap, Cisco is introducing the Global Cybersecurity Scholarship program. The new CCNA Cyber Ops certification and the CCIE Security revisions are designed to address the critical skills deficit, providing the job-ready knowledge needed to meet current and future challenges of network security.

Cisco wants to help successful candidates to get certified. Scholarship awards are available from August 1, 2016, until the end of July 2017. Candidates are offered training, mentoring, and certification for the skills needed in the security operations center (SOC) analyst job role. 

Scholarship Award Details

• The instructor-led e-learning training consists of two courses and two assessments, along with mentoring and coaching, representing a significant monetary investment in your career.
• Mentoring and exam preparation are included.
• The cost of all exam fees is included.

Qualifications

To be considered for a scholarship, applicants must have these qualifications:

General:

• At least 18 years old
• English proficiency

Basic competency (one or more of the following):

• Cisco certification (Cisco CCENT certification or higher)
• Relevant industry certification [(ISC)2, CompTIA Security+, EC-Council, GIAC, ISACA]
• Cisco Networking Academy letter of completion (CCNA 1 and CCNA 2)

Both BiASC and NASC are VMware Regional Academies (Academy Support Center) offering instructor training.  An important change in the conditions from VMware is that VMware Academy Instructors do not require formal certification any more.

Benelux Instructor Event 2016 | 128 instructors and 31 students

Thank you all again for the fantastic work you did to make Benelux Instructor Event 2016 so successful. I specially thank Pierre De Fooz for hosting us and organizing the logistics with the venue and the evening party. Great job.

From the reactions of the audience during and after the event, I can conclude that it was very well received.

The combination of the event with the hackathons organized in Belgium and Netherlands was a winner. Everybody liked the student presentations and it brought the hackathon concept really in the picture.

My sincere thanks go to Marc Khayat and Leonard Janer for hosting the really successful IoE workshops (all 4 of them!).

I won´t exaggerate when I say this was the best Benelux Event in 17 Years.

I´ll end with some metrix: in total 128 professionals and 31 students attended the event during the two days, a number we have not reached before.
