This framework is designed to recognize and promote sustainable success among Cisco Academies, while providing guidance to those seeking to achieve it. It provides a common vocabulary and way of thinking about the Cisco Networking Academy program to facilitate the effective communication of ideas within NetAcad™ operations and the community at large. The framework encourages continuous improvement, sharing of good practices, and innovation.
The model for Academy Excellence guides NetAcad success leads/academy managers into understanding the cause and effect relationship in what the academy does and the results it achieves. The model provides an inclusive list of criteria and factors that enable excellence, and performance measures for results. It is aligned to major Quality Management Models like EFQM or Malcolm Baldrige and customized to the special needs of the Academies. The model was developed as a joint effort with members of the NetAcad Cisco Academy community within the Framework for Academy Excellence project in 2013.
The factors that are presented in the model are arranged within five main criteria, the so called Enablers:
- Academy Management
- The Academy Team
- Resources
- Student, Teaching and Learning
- Partnerships
The Enablers lead to Results and therefore the sixth part of the Model is comprised of necessary performance measures.
