Academy Connection To Close on 30 June

On 30 June 2013 Academy Connection will close.  All instructors will be required to move to Cisco NetSpace. 

Don’t wait to the last minute to upgrade.  Join us on 3 April for an interactive virtual event to learn more about Cisco NetSpace and how to use it in your classroom.

Invitation to Participate in Small Market Trial for the New CCNA Curriculum

NetAcad is targeting phased releases of the new CCNA courses starting in June 2013, with all courses to be available by December 2013. In April 2013, we’re conducting a small market trial (SMT) for the following two CCNA 5.0 courses prior to their scheduled release in June 2013:

• Introduction to Networks
• Network Basics

We invite and encourage all interested instructors to participate in this SMT. The trial will be conducted virtually, and we hope volunteers from around the world will participate. Your contribution will help shape the future of Mind Wide Open teaching and learning.

Change to Academy Connection Login Experience

Please note that on March 11, 2013 Cisco is changing the log in experience for Academy Connection. Starting Monday, March 11 when you click the Log In button on www.cisco.com/go/netacad  to access Academy Connection, you will automatically be redirected to the new login page for Cisco NetSpace at www.netacad.com, where you can log in to NetSpace or Academy Connection from one convenient location.    The following screenshot shows the link to log into Academy Connection that will appear in a yellow box at the top of the page on March 11: 

Cisco is redirecting all users to the NetSpace login page for several reasons:

• Users can now bookmark one site: www.netacad.com  
• A large number of users have already moved to NetSpace and more continue to upgrade at a rapid pace.
• The majority of student classes opened in the last two months have been opened in NetSpace.
• This change continues to provide easy access to any classes you are completing on Academy Connection before it closes on June 30, 2013.

Moving to NetSpace

We encourage you to join your peer Networking Academy instructors who are already teaching with NetSpace. Just log into Academy Connection and click the NetSpace banner on the instructor homepage to start the upgrade process. A few things to remember:  

• After upgrading to NetSpace, you can continue to use Academy Connection to access current classes.
• After you have upgraded, all new courses must be created in NetSpace.
• The latest start date instructors can use for new student classes in Academy Connection is April 1, 2013.
• All new student classes in Academy Connection must be created before April 1, 2013.
• All classes opened in Academy Connection must end by June 30, 2013.

Equipment Discount Program

Validity Period: 1 March 2013 – 27 July 2013

The Cisco Networking Academy Equipment Discount Program enables academies to purchase equipment that supports the delivery and hands-on learning aspects of Cisco CCNA, CCNA Security, and CCNP courses at reduced prices.

To qualify for an equipment discount, an academy must meet the following requirements:

•  Currently recognized as an active Cisco Academy
•  Currently offers CCNA, CCNA Security, or CCNP courses

   ● 10 CCNA bundles
   ● 10 CCNA Security bundles
   ● 4 CCNP bundles
   ● 10 of each product add-on
   If a request exceeds the maximum number of bundles indicated above, we will need justification from your area academy manager or Academy Support Center.
